846bb30e13 Revert "[1/N] Change #include <c10/util/Optional.h> to #include <optional> (#128301)"
This reverts commit bd72e28314d8d63bb347becb8309f5ac7761c6b5.

Reverted https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/pull/128301 on behalf of https://github.com/huydhn due to Sorry for reverting your change but it fails XLA build bd72e28314. Please rebase your PR before relanding because I think the failure is hidden by an unrelated broken trunk XLA failure from your current base commit ([comment](https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/pull/128301#issuecomment-2169035822))

ed327876f5 [codemod] c10:optional -> std::optional (#126135)
Generated by running the following from PyTorch root:
```
find . -regex ".*\.\(cpp\|h\|cu\|hpp\|cc\|cxx\)$" | grep -v "build/" | xargs -n 50 -P 4 perl -pi -e 's/c10::optional/std::optional/'
```

`c10::optional` is just an alias for `std::optional`. This removes usages of that alias in preparation for eliminating it entirely.

fa09099ba3 Codegen: TraceType only includes operators being registered (#68691)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/pull/68691

TraceType is a sharded file, so by only including specific operator
headers, we ensure that changing one (non-method) operator only needs
one shard to be re-compiled.

This also changes all the included autograd and jit headers from
including `ATen/ATen.h` to just including `ATen/core/Tensor.h`.

c23808d8e8 Reland: Add base forward grad logic (#49734)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/pull/49734

RFC: https://github.com/pytorch/rfcs/pull/11

This PR add the basic logic to handle forward grad as dual Tensors.
It contains the following:
- Mechanism to save dual state on a Tensor and clear it up when the dual level ends
- C++ and python user facing API
- Updated view system that is able to track both forward and backward views

The current PR has the following limitations:
- Extensive tests are in the next PR in the stack as formulas are needed to write full tests.
- Only the manual formulas have been audited and no other formula is actually implemented here (they are in the next PR in the stack)
- Only level 0 is allowed for now. This was discussed and agreed that it is not needed for the first version of this PR.
- We can save one ViewInfo creation when both the forward and backward views have the same base. This can be done by adding a boolean flag to the DifferentiableViewMeta and extra logic in the `as_view` method. This is left out to keep this PR concise.
- We can skip tracking forward views if the base has a forward grad. This can be done by adding extra logic in the `as_view` method. This is left out to keep this PR concise.

8756ec989e bind autograd functions into C++ (#24342)
Summary:
Pull Request resolved: https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/pull/24342

Right now the two APIs that provided in autograd package only have
python bindings and we could not call them either in C++ API or in
TorchScript. This PR make these two APIs available purely in C++ (with
preserving semantics) and can be used in C++ API and TorchScript

517c7c9861 Canonicalize all includes in PyTorch. (#14849)
Summary:
Anywhere we used #include "foo.h", we now say #include <foo.h>
Paths are adjusted to be rooted out of aten/src, torch/lib, or
the root level directory.

I modified CMakeLists.txt by hand to remove TH and THC from
the include paths.

I used the following script to do the canonicalization:

```
  import subprocess
  import re
  import os.path
  files = subprocess.check_output(['git', 'ls-files']).decode('utf-8').rstrip().split('\n')
  for fn in files:
      if not any(fn.endswith(suff) for suff in ['.cu', '.cpp', '.in', '.h', '.hpp', '.cu', '.cuh', '.cc']):
          continue
      if not any(fn.startswith(pref) for pref in ["aten/", "torch/"]):
          continue
      with open(fn, 'r') as f:
          c = f.read()
      def fmt(p):
          return "#include <{}>".format(p)
      def repl(m):
          p = m.group(1)
          if p in ["dlfcn.h", "unistd.h", "nvrtc.h", "cuda.h", "cuda_runtime.h", "cstdint", "cudnn.h", "Python.h", "cusparse.h", "cuda_runtime_api.h", "cuda_fp16.h", "cublas_v2.h", "stdint.h", "curand_kernel.h"]:
              return fmt(p)
          if any(p.startswith(pref) for pref in ["torch/csrc", "c10/", "ATen/", "caffe2/", "TH/", "THC/", "Eigen/", "gtest/", "zdl/", "gloo/", "onnx/", "miopen/"]):
              return fmt(p)
          for root in ["aten/src", "torch/lib", ""]:
              for bad_root in [os.path.dirname(fn), "aten/src/TH", "aten/src/THC", "torch/csrc"]:
                  new_p = os.path.relpath(os.path.join(bad_root, p), root)
                  if not new_p.startswith("../") and (os.path.exists(os.path.join(root, new_p)) or os.path.exists(os.path.join(root, new_p + ".in"))):
                      return fmt(new_p)
          print("ERROR: ", fn, p)
          return m.group(0)
      new_c = re.sub(r'#include "([^"]+)"', repl, c)
      if new_c != c:
          print(fn)
          with open(fn, 'w') as f:
              f.write(new_c)
286cd04a20 JIT cleanup (#7631)
Cleans up dead code in the JIT:
* Remove interpreter_autograd_function
* Remove Handles
* Remove HandleBuilder
* Remove creates_handles, and tracing_autograd_python_function flags
* Remove unused var_args
* Fix submodules
48a3349c29 Delete dead Tensor code paths (#5417)
This deletes most of the dead Tensor code paths, including the TensorMethods cwrap and generic/Tensor.cpp.
This also moves the THNN.cwrap/.cpp generation to generate_code which can use ninja if installed.
d605058212 Replace Variable.volatile with torch.no_grad() (#3970)
This removes volatile from Variable. The functionality is mostly
replaced by a global (thread-local) flag, which is controlled by
torch.set_grad_enabled() and the context manager torch.no_grad().
In C++, the flag is exposed through GradMode::is_enabled() and GradMode::set_enabled()
bd5303010d Refactor autograd package to separate Python dependencies. (#662)
The core autograd Variable, Function, and Engine no longer depend on the
Python API. This let's us implement functions in C++. In the future, we
can also multithread engine and release the GIL for most of the
non-Python backwards.
