# Environment variables

## `KERNELS_CACHE`

The directory to use as the local kernel cache. If not set, the cache
of the `huggingface_hub` package is used.

## `DISABLE_KERNEL_MAPPING`

Disables kernel mappings for [`layers`](layers.md).
